3 Days Per Week
A Day In The Life
“I’m here!” Nora shouts as she bounds into the classroom, happily greeting her teachers and classmates. As the Two/Threes come together on the rug, their school day begins. “Is Kyle here today?” their teacher asks holding up the classmate’s picture…. and indeed he is! After swapping news and sharing a few songs, children are ready to choose an activity and get to work: sorting seashells, painting at the easel, pretend play, block building or maybe cooking with a teacher. These young preschoolers extend their interests and deepen their understanding through play with natural materials and interactions with teachers and friends.
Soon jackets go on, a line forms and children are ready to run, jump and play in our outdoor play area. A healthy snack welcomes them back to the classroom, followed by Music with Mik, and then the morning concludes with a story on the rug.
For these two- and three-year-olds, the classroom is their workplace and their home-away-from-home – a safe and happy haven where they learn about each other, explore new ideas and enjoy the beginnings of independence.
